If you get a text message, ignore it. It may read something like: “First State Bank alert. Your card has been temporarily deactivated. Please call our card services line.”
It is not from First State Bank. It’s sent by thieves, and this is what you hear when you call the number: “Due to our recent banking software upgrade, debit card reactivation is required.”
We are advising everyone to not respond to the scam texts or phone calls that are associated with our bank name in any way.
